Why is it that diesel engines require more frequent engine oil changes than the petrol equivalents?

Diesel engines produce larger amounts of carbon, which is suspended in the engine oil. Eventually the build-up of carbon will solidify the engine oil, so it needs to be changed more frequently.

How do I find out about finance options?

LDV offers a full suite of finance and insurance products. Please contact an authorised LDV dealer to discuss your financing and insurance requirements.

Can I get my vehicle serviced at any garage?
We recommend that you take advantage of the service facilities available at all LDV dealerships and Service Agents throughout New Zealand to ensure your manufacturer’s warranty obligations are obliged. All LDV Service Agents have access to LDV service information, service tools and electronic diagnostic equipment. LDV technicians are specifically trained to service your LDV vehicle efficiently and economically. Nobody else is better equipped to take care of your new LDV. Should you have any queries on the operation of your LDV, please contact your nearest LDV Service Agent, who will be happy to assist you.
Where can I purchase parts and accessories for my vehicle?

Owning a LDV vehicle gives you access to an unrivalled parts replacement service. In most cases, replacement parts can either be supplied straight off the shelf at the dealership or delivered from LDV New Zealand. LDV Dealers have access to genuine parts which are manufactured with the same precision and quality as the original. A wide range of accessories are available to personalise your vehicle, and LDV New Zealand also stocks parts for used imports.

How do I know whether a fault with my LDV vehicle is covered by the new vehicle warranty?
LDV’s new vehicle warranty covers any part of your vehicle, which becomes defective due to faulty materials or workmanship in manufacture or assembly within the warranty period, from the date of original sale.
A LDV Dealer or LDV Service Agent is in the best position to determine whether your vehicle has a manufacturing fault, or if the failure is due to normal wear and tear. As an LDV customer, you are obliged to report any fault as soon as you can. Once the LDV Dealer/Service Agent has confirmed that the failure is covered under warranty, they are usually in the best position to carry out repairs.
Can I use non-LDV genuine parts?
We recommend LDV genuine parts when you replace any of the parts of your car during maintenance or repair. These have been designed, constructed and tested to keep your LDV vehicle running at its best.
What does a service include?
Not all the parts on your car are replaced every time you have a service, as they wear and deteriorate at varying times and distances travelled. As a guide, a service may include the following:
• Horn, lights and indicators
• Wiper blades and washers
• Hand brake and pedal operation
• Battery
• Drive belt
• Engine oil and coolant
• Pollen filter
• Brake and clutch fluid
• Air cleaner filter
• Latches, hinges and locks
• Wheels and tyres
• Tyre wear and pressure check
• Wheels rotated as required to maximise life
Please refer to the maintenance schedule of your owner’s manual for specific items.
I have a complaint about an LDV Dealer, who should I speak to?
We recommend in the first instance you discuss your concerns with the Sales Manager or Service Manager at your LDV Dealership. Should you feel your concerns have not been addressed, you can ask to speak to the Dealer Principal.
Failing this you can contact our Customer Relations Team on 0800 510 015.
What’s the difference between braked and unbraked towing weights?

An unbraked trailer has no brakes fitted so the vehicle towing it does all the braking. A braked trailer has brakes fitted; therefore, the trailer will apply its brakes through a mechanical linkage. This is why braked weights are often greater than the unbraked weights.

I require technical information, where can I get it from?
Our LDV Dealerships provide a ‘hands on’ approach in offering technical assistance. Please contact your local LDV Dealership in the first instance.
My battery is running low on my remote key or KOS, where can I get a new one?

Contact your nearest LDV Dealer and they’ll help to replace the battery for your remote or KOS.

What is Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)?

ABS is a safety system that allows the wheels on a vehicle to maintain traction with the road surface according to driver inputs while braking, preventing the wheels from locking up (ceasing rotation) and helping to avoid uncontrolled skidding.

What is Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)?
EBD is a braking technology that automatically varies the amount of force applied to each of a vehicle's wheels, based on road conditions, speed, loading, etc.
What is Emergency Brake Assist System (EBA)?

EBA is an automobile braking technology that increases braking pressure in an emergency.
